About / Editorial Policy
Editorial policy
We sell placement beside our analysis. We do not sell the analysis. Here is where the line is.
How we make money
Four things pay for Finantrix.
Digital products. The Store and the WealthSynth packages. Buying one gets you nothing editorially.
Enhanced directory listings. $199 a year for a vendor to control its own directory profile and take buyer inquiries directly.
Placements beside buyer guides. $399 a year for a Vendor Spotlight card. $699 a year for the Featured Vendor strip, one per guide. Both are labeled as paid.
Executive Forum memberships. $499 a year to join and $249 for each accepted piece. Members publish under their own byline in their own section.
We take no affiliate commissions and run no display advertising.
What paying us buys
Presentation and reach.
An enhanced listing buys control over how you describe yourself and a direct line to buyers. A placement buys a labeled position beside a guide.
That is the whole list.
What is not for sale
Which vendors a buyer guide evaluates, what it says about them, and how they are ordered.
Position in the directory.
Coverage in Insights, and any link inside an article, guide or glossary entry.
Removal of an accurate assessment.
A vendor holding a placement is assessed on the same terms as one that has never paid us. No editorial tool of ours reads who has paid.
How paid placement is labeled
Every paid placement sits inside a bordered module headed Sponsored, carries the vendor's name, and states on the page that it does not affect the guide's evaluation.
A placement never appears inside a guide's vendor comparison and is never styled to look like one.
Links
Every outbound link to a vendor's own site carries nofollow. Links inside a paid placement and links out of Executive Forum content also carry sponsored.
We do not sell links, exchange links, accept link insertions, or publish anything whose purpose is to carry one.
Editorial links are chosen by whoever wrote the piece.
The Executive Forum
Forum pieces are paid for by their authors and are labeled as paid on every page.
They publish in their own section. They never appear in Insights or in a buyer guide, and they are no input to any vendor assessment.
Membership does not buy editorial coverage. A canceled membership unpublishes nothing.
Contributed articles
We publish a small number of contributed pieces from senior practitioners writing about work they were accountable for. We do not charge for one and do not pay for one.
We do not publish agency-written articles, ghostwritten thought leadership, press releases, or anything whose purpose is to carry a link.
Pitch one at our contact form. Send a few paragraphs, not a draft.
Claims and evidence
Every empirical claim we publish traces to a named source or is stated qualitatively. We remove invented figures, surveys, citations and testimonials.
We remove superlatives from vendor copy.
Corrections
Send the page URL, the sentence that is wrong, and something we can check it against, to our contact form.
Free, from anyone, and never tied to a purchase.
Who wrote what
Editorial work is produced by Finantrix. Contributed pieces run under the contributor's byline and are marked as contributed. Executive Forum pieces are marked as paid. Placements carry the vendor's name and are marked as sponsored.
