- Enrollment is as CMS counts it for each contract in the month, grouped by the parent organization CMS records. CMS suppresses counts under eleven in this file, so totals run slightly below its summary report.
- Medicare Advantage here is coordinated care plans (local and regional), private fee-for-service and medical savings account plans. Stand-alone prescription drug plans are shown separately; PACE, cost and HCPP plans, which are other Medicare health plans, are left out.
- Month-to-month changes are largest at the start of a plan year, when the annual enrollment period takes effect.
