What this means for technology buyers
A trust department runs on specialist systems a bank does not otherwise need, trust accounting and fiduciary administration above all, and replacing them is a long project. These guides compare the options:
- Trust accounting systems for banks and trust companies: the books of record for fiduciary accounts.
- Fiduciary accounting platforms for trust departments: administration, statements and fiduciary review.
- Estate planning software: the advice work that feeds a personal trust business.
- Private banking solutions: for banks that run trust alongside private banking.

How this list was built
The universe is every institution that reported fiduciary and related assets on Schedule RC-T of its Call Report for June 30, 2026, as published in the FDIC's BankFind Suite. That includes national trust banks that file a Call Report without taking insured deposits. Institutions are ranked by total fiduciary and related assets, which is managed plus non-managed accounts; the schedule's own arithmetic, managed plus non-managed equals the total, holds on every row.
No second publisher reports fiduciary assets bank by bank, so this list rests on one source: the institutions' own filings.
Limits
- Custody is not included. Custody and safekeeping accounts are reported on a separate line and are a different business. The custodian banks ranking covers it from the banks' own disclosures.
- Institutions, not groups. A group with several trust charters, or a trust business outside a bank, appears once per filing institution or not at all.
- Fiduciary assets are not revenue. Non-managed accounts can be large and earn little; managed assets are shown so the difference is visible.
- One quarter. The date of the data is June 30, 2026.
